Heritage Festival

During Spring Break, Nederland puts on the Heritage Festival complete with rides, shopping booths, and junk food.  It's tradition to get the kids all access passes and spend just about evening at the festival.  This was Emma's first Spring Break, so she was especially excited and pretty much refused to do any reading of any sort during her "break."  We ran into lots of friends while at the festival, and then you usually take a few minutes to ride some rides when you bump into them.  Sometimes we'd meet up with slightly older kids that only want to the big kid rides.  Well, Emma is about 2-3 inches too short for the height requirement, so she decided to stay on her tip toes at all times!  Seriously, she took this very seriously, and I would say that most of the time she was successful in getting on the ride.  The first time she started to get refused, she cried, so they let her on anyway :)

See, she's not looking quite tall enough on this one :)

A friend of ours posted this on Facebook.  It was hilarious because someone we don't know responded with "it looks like someone has had enough."  I wonder which one that person was referring to???

Tip toe partners in crime!
