Santa Stops by our House

When we got home from church on Christmas Eve, we heard some jingle bells near the back door. Rhett ran over to check it out, and lo and behold Santa was waiting by the back door. He needed to check in with our Elf on the Shelf (Buzz) one last time before deciding which toys to bring the kids on Christmas Day.

Rhett was excited to give him a card that said he would like a monster truck, craft supplies, and a kitchen to share with Emma. However, when he read the card he failed to mention the "sharing" part, and when I reminded him, he said "no, not to share, just for me." Santa requested that Rhett sing a Christmas carol, so Rhett proudly belted out his Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer complete with Texas twang.

Of course Emma wasn't really interested in getting anywhere near Santa, but she couldn't take her eyes off of him. After that, anytime we mentioned Santa around her, she did her "ho ho ho," but she also ran to the back door and looked for him. (All her Christmas pictures include her lovely bottle. With the stomach bug, she's pretty much down to a milk-only diet, and she is still throwing her sippy cup across the room if I try to slip milk into it...according to Emma, milk ONLY goes in a bottle.)

Santa must have received a satisfactory report from Buzz. Here is his final product before the mass chaos broke loose...
