First Open House

Rhett had his first Open House on Tuesday night. We didn't get pictures from his performance, but he did a great job. He kind of sat by his class, and he played the instruments (rhythm sticks and some other kind of hand-held clapping thing) to the music. But, he got a little antsy and started using the instruments to build towers instead of make music. The teacher said he is very smart, and that even though he says he doesn't play with other kids and doesn't know their names, he actually does play with the kids and he knows their names. Over the past two months they have been focusing on the Creation Story and Noah's Ark. The also do curriculum from Kindermusik. Here are some pictures of his artwork.

We usually spend some time outside playing with the neighbors in the evenings. Here's Rhett with his friends, Caden (4 years old) and Kendall (2 years old). Somehow they all fit into this rocking chair! They're a little windblown because they just got back from a ride on the 4-wheelers with their daddies.

And, of course, another picture with the "boots." This is a preview to what we believe will be the theme for Rhett's next birthday party: cowboys and cowgirls. I'm trying to find someone to do pony rides, but I haven't had any luck yet...

We still have a bunch of sick kiddos. Nothing horrible, it's just been lingering for the last 2 months. Most recently Emma was diagnosed with strep again, and Rhett is headed back to the ENT today because of an earache. I keep telling myself that all of this illness now will help their immune system so that their bodies will be prepared when they start school!
