Spontaneous Zoo Trip

I took the kids out for a walk this morning and realized it was the perfect day for a zoo trip. The only problem is that the closest zoo is 100 miles away. The distance didn't stop us. About 30 minutes later, we were headed out the door on our way to Houston. The kids did a great job riding in the car despite the horrendous traffic that resulted in a 3 hour trip from the time we left our house to the time we got through the front gates of the zoo.

Daddy's are good for lifting kids up high to see the animals....



Emma spent the entire time lounging in her stroller, and she didn't fuss a bit.



Rhett picked out this crazy tiger toy from the gift shop,



and so we got Emma a baby tiger in a blanket to match.



The car ride home was a breeze. We even had enough time to quickly fire up the grill for dinner and get the sleepy kids in bed by 8:00. FYI, it's really hard to juggle the camera with the kids at the zoo!
