We rang in our New Year with Rhett's surgery (he had tonsils and adenoids taken out on New Years Eve). Everything went great, and he was able to go home after just a few hours. True to what they say, Rhett is proving that little kids bounce back quickly. He is full of energy although he isn't too keen on eating and drinking just yet.
I only have pre-op photos to share. We were dreading the hospital gown since Rhett always insists on being fully clothed (he won't even wear a short-sleeve shirt these days). Thankfully, they just have the kids wear the gown over their PJs. We called the gown his snuggie. He was okay with it, but he wanted it off the second he got out of the wheelchair and into our car to go home!
But, since he had the surgery, and it was New Years, we set up a blow up air mattress in our living room, and let him "spend the night" by the TV. He passed out around 7:30, but at least we gave him a chance to get in on the New Years Eve action if he was up for it.
Our family is resolving to make health a priority in 2011. Hopefully, the kids can get off the consistent cycle of antibiotics, and we can start incorporating more healthy habits into our day to day routine!
